Teacher Summit for Classroom Management: Classroom and Behavior Management for Middle and High School Teachers
Course Description:
Idioma Education & Consulting invites conference participants to register for approved PD hours for Teacher Summit for Classroom Management attendance and reflections, or three graduate credits for attending the Teacher Summit for Classroom Management and the completion of the post conference online course.
Required Texts (for 3 graduate-level credits ONLY)
Transformational Deep-Dives provided in the course and by the Teacher Summit for Classroom Management.
Course Delivery
Participants choosing to earn 3 graduate-level credits are required to complete 45 combined contact hours and assignment hours. All coursework is assigned on Schoology for which you will receive an invitation upon registration.
In this context “contact hours” are the hours spent attending sessions or workshops and participating in conference-related learning activities; and “assignment hours” are the hours spent on assignments in the course. See the examples for each below:
Acceptable Contact Hour Activities for Professional Development:
Viewing the Teacher Summit for Classroom Management sessions
Provide a list of workshops, including the number of hours) that you attended during the Summit and summarize each using the form provided after registration
Discussions with colleagues, presenters & members of the educational community
Reading about, watching videos on related topics, reviewing Summit website and Summit program
Networking, following up with contacts for future connections·
All activities may be performed before, during, and after the Teacher Summit for Classroom Management.
Acceptable Assignment Hour Activities
Discussion board posts allow course participants to engage in a conversation around the theory, research, and practice as presented in the lectures, videos, and readings in each module.
Transformational Deep-Dive reflections allow participants to think critically about the reading, activities and the conference workshops they have completed during the course. Participants will tie their own practice in an attempt to understand how language learning and teaching guiding principles drive their own work.
After the completion of the Summit, sessions and coursework, participants will design a classroom management plan relevant to their own practice related to the course content.
Participants choose to earn 1 graduate-level credit are required to complete and submit a reflection assignment. All coursework is assigned on Schoology for which you will receive an invitation upon registration.
Participants choosing to earn 15 professional development hours are required to submit a Summit Reflection Form which Idioma will send upon registration.
